How to Make a Shamrock Painting

1. Print Your Shamrock Template

Start by printing your shamrock template on cardstock so it’s a little sturdier for cutting and taping down.

2. Cut Out the Inside of the Shamrock

Cut out the inside of the shamrock shape, leaving the outer edge so it works like a stencil.

3. Set Up Your Craft Area

Place a blank sheet of paper on your craft mat or table covering.

4. Tape the Shamrock Stencil Down

Lay your shamrock cutout on top of the blank page and use painter’s tape to secure it so it doesn’t move while the kids paint.

5. Let Kids Paint

Pour some paint into bowls and give the kids paint brushes. Let them paint inside the shamrock stencil however they want. Different shades of green are fun, but honestly any colors work!

6. Peel Off the Stencil

Once they’re done painting, carefully pull the shamrock cutout off the paper to reveal the shamrock shape underneath.

7. Let It Dry

Set the painting aside and let it dry completely.

8. Add a Cute Message

If you want to turn it into a little card or keepsake, add a message like:

“So lucky you’re my daddy!”

You could also write:

- So lucky you’re my mommy

- Lucky to have you

- Happy St. Patrick’s Day
